Families in Fond du Lac are gearing up for the annual Monster March, set for Saturday, October 31. Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership organizes this event, giving kids a safe way to show off costumes and collect treats from local businesses.
The march starts at 10 a.m. and runs until noon. You’ll find participating businesses along Main Street between Merrill and Western Avenues. Watch for signs in the windows so you know where to stop for treats. Volunteers and police officers help with safety by guiding people across streets.
You don’t have to register or pay to join. Just bring your children in costume and start at any point along the route. If rain moves in, the event goes on as scheduled, so dress for the weather.
Monster March brings hundreds of families downtown each October. Shops hand out candy, and some even have special decorations or staff in costume. Many families use this event as a chance to connect with neighbors and explore new shops.
If you represent a business downtown and want to join as a treat stop, you can sign up on the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership website. Organizers recommend bringing enough candy for at least 500 kids, since the march draws a large crowd.
Monster March gives you a way to enjoy Halloween in a safe, welcoming setting. Do you remember your favorite costume from childhood? This event offers a chance to create new memories with your family.
