THE ROAD is America’s leading live Country music show. On the air since late 1994, the radio show was originally a spinoff of a television concert show with the same name. When the program began, the recordings captured during the filming of the TV show were shared by the production team who assembled the radio broadcast. The first dozen radio programs featured appearances by superstar artists like Faith Hill, Toby Keith, Clint Black, Vince Gill, Martina McBride, Travis Tritt and many more. Before long, the radio show was a huge success, and was airing on roughly 250 of the nation’s top Country stations.
After a couple of seasons, the television show was cancelled, but the demand at radio stations for the exclusive live recordings kept the radio show going. The producers of the program took on all of the artist relations and remote recording duties themselves, and kept the program alive until late in 1997, when The Road was acquired by The United Stations Radio Networks, America’s leading independently owned and operated radio network.
United Stations continues to broadcast The Road as a two-hour weekly radio show that features recordings from an exclusive library of live concert material, and the show is still heard in hundreds of cities across America. Through its own specialized team of radio and music professionals, new live concert recordings are gathered at venues all across America all the time and added to the program’s weekly mix of live material. Recent superstar artists to appear on The Road include Brad Paisley, Sugarland, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Reba, Sara Evans, Keith Urban and many more.
